Hemp vs marijuana — a legal line, not a botanical one

• Hemp = cannabis with ≤ 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. Legal under the 2018 Farm Bill at the federal level.
• Marijuana = cannabis with > 0.3% Delta-9 THC. Federally a Schedule I controlled substance, regardless of state legality.

The plants look identical. A lab test is the only way to know which side of 0.3% it falls on. Everything buds.fun sells is hemp — meaning it tests under 0.3% Delta-9 THC and is federally legal to ship.

Where THCa fits in

THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the acid form of THC. Raw cannabis flower is mostly THCa, not THC. THCa converts to Delta-9 THC when heated (smoked, vaped, or baked). That's why a flower can test at 25% THCa but only 0.2% Delta-9 THC — federally hemp on paper, fully psychoactive once you light it.
